Our public hot spring Kissho no Yu offers a refreshing place to view Kagawa's beautiful scenery. The Sanuki Plains and Mount Iinoyama (also known locally as "Sanuki Fuji") paint a picture in the distance, clearly visible from inside the spa. The outdoor bath (women can bathe in the afternoon and evening, men in the morning) is nestled into Mount Kotohira, and the mountain's quietude soothes the soul. During the day, enjoy the dappled sunlight filtering through the trees and the bustle of Konpira-san; at night, the surrounding bamboo forest is illuminated with ethereal lights.
After-bath Lounge Space After a dip in the onsen, enjoy our gallery which features an original work by the famous author Ibuse Masuji. One of the most important early modern Japanese novelists, he created this piece with his traveling companions in 1939. They stopped in Konpira-san after a literary event in Kochi, and of course, they stayed at Kotohira Kadan.

Enjoy scenery found only at Kotohira Kadan from our private bath, Nagomi Yu. With a stunning view of the historic Kotohira townscape and the Asan mountains, this striking stone bath sits on a spacious terrace. Ample lounge space gives guests the chance to unwind with a cup of our special in-house tea, and the airy bathing area includes a shower booth. Enjoy the full onsen experience in privacy and comfort.
